Bottle and pumping log: keep feeds and expressed milk separate

Record bottle feeds and pumping sessions in separate entries, using consistent units and a blank spreadsheet template.

Give every entry a clear type

Label a bottle feed as a bottle and a pumping session as pumping. Add breast milk or formula when that distinction is useful. A pumping total describes milk expressed; it does not say how much the baby drank.

Keep amounts and units together

Use mL or oz consistently, and write the unit next to the amount. For bottles, distinguish the amount offered from the amount taken. If a value is an estimate, mark it so another caregiver does not mistake it for a measurement.

Separate this log from storage instructions

Record the time the event happened and who added it. A volume log is not a milk-storage safety guide and does not calculate a feeding requirement. Follow your clinician’s advice and current official guidance for preparation and storage.

A blank record to start with

Print this page using your browser, or download the CSV and open it in a spreadsheet. Add rows as you need them. The template is a record, not a feeding schedule or a medical assessment.

On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to see every column.
