Breastfeeding side tracker: left, right and last feed
A simple breastfeeding record for the side, start time and duration of each session, with a blank printable template.
Record both sides when you use both
Write the session start time and the side you began on. If you switch, add the second side and its duration. The last side used and the side used longest can be different; label the detail you want to remember.
Make interruptions visible
Pause a timer during an interruption if you want a record of active nursing time. If you use paper, make a brief note rather than trying to reconstruct every minute afterwards. An approximate entry is useful when it is clearly marked as approximate.
Treat the record as a memory aid
Look at the last entry when you want to recall what happened. A side tracker does not measure milk intake and cannot assess feeding effectiveness. Ask your clinician or lactation professional about concerns, rather than using timer totals as a target.
A blank record to start with
Print this page using your browser, or download the CSV and open it in a spreadsheet. Add rows as you need them. The template is a record, not a feeding schedule or a medical assessment.
On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to see every column.
